UPDATE!!!

The membership has spoken, and I have listened.

I promised to be a voice for every single dues-paying member of Sandy Pines—and that remains my only intention. Since announcing my candidacy, these are the recurring items that have been brought forward to me by you, the members.

I will do my best to be an advocate for the people and stand for what YOU want. I will not promise you hot tubs or guarantee that the day after the election you can bring your solid-colored YETI back to the water park. What I can promise is that I’m listening—and will continue to listen—and I will advocate on YOUR behalf.

What I Believe In:

• Modernizing the Boat Stake/Dock Program: Advocate for a new system allowing members who no longer use their boat stakes or docks to transfer or sell them—preserving member equity and generating park revenue through transfer fees. I’ve been vocal about this need since joining in 2022.
• Restoring Pool Capacity: Support returning pool capacity to pre-COVID levels so members can fully enjoy this essential amenity.
• Lifeguard Retention: Fully support maintaining our lifeguard staff, which contributes to the safety and enjoyment of all members, young and old.
• Improving Member Surveys: Surveys must be easier to access and more widely promoted. They are a vital tool for ensuring member voices guide park decisions.
• Prioritizing Core Infrastructure: Electrical, water, and maintenance systems are non-negotiable. Before adding new amenities, we must ensure the park’s core operations are funded and functional.
• Addressing Water Quality & Lake Health: The park’s wells and lake conditions are top priorities. Members have spoken, and I’m committed to seeing these concerns addressed.
• Creating New Revenue Opportunities: Sandy Pines has a large, talented membership. We need a better way to gather suggestions—an anonymous or low-pressure idea portal—so great ideas can surface without requiring members to take on extra responsibility or fear backlash.
• Lake Rentals at Dairy Dip Beach: Support establishing a rental station near Dairy Dip Beach for floating mats, tubes, and water toys. This would generate revenue and reduce hassle for families, especially grandparents with young children.
• Engaging Youth Through Focus Groups: Propose youth-driven focus groups led by parents of babies, toddlers, young children, and teens. Let’s listen to what kids really want from the park—they are the future of Sandy Pines.
• Reassessing Pool Clear Bag/Bottle Policy: Many members have voiced concerns about the clear bag and bottle rule at the pools. While I can’t promise change, I will strongly advocate for what the membership wants—even if that means returning to the previous policy.
• Keeping Sandy Pines Affordable and Inclusive: It is a top priority to keep annual dues at an affordable level for everyone—from middle-class families raising young children to retirees enjoying the fruits of their hard work. Sandy Pines must remain accessible to all and not become an exclusive retreat for only the wealthy.
• Clear & Consistent Violation Warnings: During the "Meet the Candidates" event, one of the most frequently raised concerns was the need for a clear and obvious violation warning system. Whether a system already exists or not, the membership is clearly asking for better transparency, consistency, and communication in how park rules are enforced.
